This is why I think there's truth to the rumors:
I was kind of annoyed by the noise that the iPad 3rd gen would be heavier (even slightly) than the iPad 2. Everyone agrees that the iPad 2 is still too heavy to wield one-handed for any serious length of time.
How could Apple completely not address the issue of the iPad being too heavy for plenty of iPad tasks?
Answer: iPad Mini -- for all your lighter, slightly smaller iPad needs.
